In Need of a Technician? Call our Office!!!

As MXOtech makes great progress our technicians are also advancing. Our Network Administrators have been in high demand lately and we'd like to reassure you that they will be there when you need them. Please call our office at 312.243.0123 and Niki will assist you in scheduling an appointment with one of our team members. You can also visit our Help Desk through the MXOtech website and submit a Help Desk ticket for non-emergency requests. Another helpful suggestion is to cc: Niki Maston (nmaston@mxotech.com) on all email questions/requests that are sent directly to our technicians. This will assure you a timely response in the event that they are supporting another client.

We would like to introduce our newest member of the MXOtech team - Matthew Cooper, Network Systems Administrator.

Matt is a Microsoft and Novell certified professional with a diploma from The Chubb Institute in Network Administration and is currently enrolled to complete his Bachelor's in Computer Science from Devry in 2008.

Prior to joining MXOtech's Networking Solutions Division, Matt worked at Victor C. Neumann Association since 2001 where he managed/supported 21 branch offices designing and implementing LAN/WAN networks. For the past several weeks Matt has been working closely with Michael Dugan to adopt the "MXOtech Way" as well as become familiar with our clients' networks. Novellfall

In between school and work Matt enjoys making music on his computer and turntables.

Smartphones
For all you Smartphone owners out there, PC Magazine has a roundup of the 12 best mobile applications. I personally use Google maps, it comes in handy when you're looking for the closest Thai food place. Opera Mini is another great mobile browser. I have found that the blackberry browser doesn't load the page quite right but Opera mini does a little bit better of a job.  It's still not like the Internet on your PC but it's the best mobile browser I have found. Check out the link for some other great Apps.

Vista
There's a good article on Computerworld.com that talks about how big businesses are slowly adopting Vista. Many companies are waiting until the release of Service Pack for Vista in early January. The main concern for companies is the inability for Vista to work with many types of hardware and software. The article states that Microsoft is trying to overcome this hurdle and hopes that by buying Service Pack this won't be a problem. Microsoft cuts off support for XP in 2009 so most systems should be adopted by then.

How Can a Recruiter Provide the Edge in a Candidate Selection?
 Joanna

As an experienced recruiter it's easy for me to recommend using a technology staffing firm having had first-hand experience with the hiring process over and over again.  But you may ask yourself what a recruiter can really do for your company.

A great recruiter finds that proverbial needle in a haystack... you know that one candidate that you over-looked because their resume didn't tell you exactly what you might want to read in 30 second... or maybe you just never found that resume in the first place.

A good recruiter will utilize multiple databases, candidate relationships and dozens of other resources narrowing the search to just 2 or 3 solid candidates.  Giving the employer time to focus on truly qualified perspective employees.

Finding the round peg for the round hole is a recruiters main goal and measure of success.  A recruiter acquires repeat business because the people they help place are a daily reminder of quality service.

Recruiters often find the candidates that can "hit the ground running" with a minimum of "ramp-up time."

A great recruiter will handle the entire process from start to finish eliminating hidden costs such as management time, employee time, HR time.  How much is their time worth?  This is in addition to the ads you place and time you spend with an open position looking through hundreds of unqualified respondents and more.

As a buffer and knowledgeable intermediary, a talented recruiter will communicate the needs and wants of both parties to arrive at a mutually beneficial arrangement without damaging the relationship.

These are just some of the benefits a great recruiting professional will take to ensure a quality fit.

Recruiting professionals are a shrewd strategic investment increasing a company's profit margins by reducing inefficient processes and expenses.  Nobody knows the employment marketplace better than a professional recruiter.
