As a central repository of all e-mail and contact
information, Outlook can't be beat,
but sometime getting the information
that you need requires too many
clicks. Wouldn't it be great if
there was a way to get all relevant
information regarding a contact
simply by clicking on an e-mail from
them? Or be able to see all the
e-mails you've exchanged when
looking at their contact
information? Well now there is, with
the help of Xobni. Xobni (inbox
spelled backwards) is an Outlook
plug-in from the company of the same
name that collects information from
Outlook, cross references them, and
places all information in a side
panel in your Outlook screen. Now
whenever you highlight an e-mail
from someone, you have a full
breakdown of all e-mails you have
sent to each other, which can be
drilled down further to see the
entire exchange of an e-mail thread.
A quick synopsis of contact
information such as phone numbers,
e-mail addresses, as well as seeing
all the files that you have
exchanged with this contact. On top
of giving you more productive
information, Xobni also records a
list of statistics allowing you to
see whom you send the most e-mails
to, who responds quickest to your
e-mails, and even allows you the
option to send an e-mail notifying
your contacts of their placement in
your statistics. Xobni also connects
to all of the big social networking
sites such as facebook, LinkedIn,
and Twitter, allowing you to follow
your contact's updates all from
Outlook as well as grabbing their
profile images.
Xobni comes in both a free and paid version. The paid
version has all the features listed
above and also includes all links
that have been shared between you
and a contact, allows for multiple .PSTs
to be linked to Xobni, as well as
viewing all calendar appointments
with a contact.
